What is Fountane?

Fountane is a venture studio. We work with entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and established businesses to build, buy, or co-build products with high scale factors, meaning products where the thousandth customer costs almost nothing to serve. We run one loop: idea, build, scale, analyze, repeat. Every product is instrumented before it ships, so real usage produces the evidence the next decision needs. From that evidence comes one of three verdicts: iterate, fund, or exit. Each turn of the loop trades a quarter of forecasting for a few weeks of learning, which is why leadership teams align faster around what we build. Product strategy and implementation live on one team, built with agentic engineering. When the opportunity is right, we take equity and work at cost.

What is a venture studio?

Most studios sell you a phase. We sell you a cycle. Fountane runs one loop of Idea, Build, Scale, and Analyze, as fast as the market allows. The verdict falls out of the data, and there are only three: iterate, fund, or exit. Then we go again, until the analysis says another turn is no longer the best available move. The loop is not a process diagram. It is a decision engine that runs faster than the market can punish a wrong guess.

How does the equity-at-cost model work?

When we believe in the outcome, we take equity and work at cost. When we don't, we work at market rate. Either way you get the same team and the same output. The deal structure changes what we are paid; it does not change what we ship. If it did, the equity would be worthless to us. Your cash exposure drops, and your partner's return depends on the same outcome yours does. That is not a discount. It is underwriting.

What does Fountane look for in a venture?

Four things. Leverage: software and AI economics rather than headcount economics. Distribution: an unfair path to the first thousand customers. Domain insight: something you know about this market that it has not priced in yet. And a decision worth making fast: the opportunity rewards speed, and the loop can return a verdict before the window closes. Three out of four and we should talk. Four out of four and we will want equity.
